El Ranchito

Wedding videographer at El Ranchito, El Rocío.

El Ranchito is in Almonte, a few kilometres from the village of El Rocío, on the edge of Doñana. It is an estate with a thirty-thousand-square-metre botanical garden, a natural lake formed by the Caño Marín stream, a jetty for ceremonies and, besides, strawberry and berry fields and a horse-riding area. We have filmed at least three weddings here since 2024; the one we tell on this page is Patri and Juanma’s, from 27 July 2024, with their pre-wedding in Marrakech. This page puts together what we saw with what the venue says on its own website, and when a fact is not ours we say so. We film the way we always do: documentary, no posing, two videographers and the whole ceremony with our own sound.

Patri and Juanma’s wedding at El Ranchito

Patri and Juanma were married on 27 July 2024, in an afternoon wedding. The ceremony was at the Convento de Santa Clara in Moguer, officiated by Father Antonio Romero Padilla; the convent, founded in 1337 for Poor Clare nuns, is Gothic-Mudéjar and keeps the memory of the Columbus vow of the Niña. From there they came to El Ranchito, and as the afternoon drew in they slipped away alone to the jetty on the lake: we filmed them in the golden light, with the classic car on a dirt track and the veil in the air. After that, the celebration in the garden, with catering by Catering Dávila (@davilaboditasbonitas), run by Rebeka Dávila, the businesswoman who, according to eventoplus, also signs Hacienda La Pintada, in Utrera. The party, with its hora loca, has its own section below.

The party and the hora loca

The night took place in the garden, among hanging lamps and tables of white roses. There were sparkler fountains, a live violin, an aerial silk act and a fire show, and the hora loca was run by Hora Loca Oficial (@horaloca_oficial): feathers, sombreros, sunglasses and the penultimate one, which was repeated more than a few times. A garden that, according to its website, holds up to three thousand guests leaves room for all of that.

Patri and Juanma’s pre-wedding

Before the wedding: the pre-wedding in Marrakech

Patri and Juanma had their pre-wedding in Marrakech and across Morocco, and we went with them. A pre-wedding is not a rehearsal: it is the time when the couple looks at each other without hurry, away from the guest list, and in Morocco there is light for that from the morning until the last tea. It is filmed, just below; and if you would like yours outside Andalusia, let us talk.

Frequently asked questions

Have you filmed weddings at El Ranchito?

At least three since 2024. The one we tell on this page is Patri and Juanma’s, from 27 July 2024: ceremony at the Convento de Santa Clara in Moguer, a session for the couple alone on the lake jetty and the celebration in the garden, hora loca included. Their pre-wedding in Marrakech is here too.

How much does a wedding film at El Ranchito cost?

We don’t publish rates because every wedding is quoted individually. Write to us with your date and the space at the venue you want for the ceremony and the celebration, and we will send you a personal link with the price. El Ranchito is in Almonte, a few kilometres from El Rocío, and we work all over Andalusia.

How many guests fit at El Ranchito?

According to its website, the garden holds up to 3,000 guests at a banquet or cocktail and 1,500 in auditorium format. That is the venue’s figure, not ours: confirm it with them before closing your guest list, because it depends on the set-up.

Can the ceremony be held at El Ranchito?

Yes: the venue offers it on a jetty over the natural lake formed by the Caño Marín stream, reached by a walkway. Patri and Juanma were married at the Convento de Santa Clara in Moguer and came to the venue afterwards; we used the jetty for their session as a couple, not for the ceremony. If you marry elsewhere, allow for the drive in your schedule.

Can you stay overnight at El Ranchito?

According to its website, the estate offers stays on site and lists a main house and an apartment among its spaces. We don’t know how many places there are or whether they can be booked for a wedding: ask the venue before fixing your date.

How do guests get there from the airport?

From Seville airport (SVQ) it is 93 km, an hour and twenty minutes by car; from Faro airport (FAO), 178 km, two hours and twenty minutes. If your guests are flying in from another country, the easy way is to land in Seville and book a coach for the way there and back.

How do you film a wedding at El Ranchito?

Like Patri and Juanma’s: the whole ceremony with our own sound; a while alone with the couple in the afternoon light, by the lake; the banquet in the garden; and the party, which here had a hora loca, fire and aerial silks. There are two of us, we stay discreet, and the golden light of the last hours of the day, the best for filming, is what we look after most.

What if it is hot?

In July, when Patri and Juanma married, summer in the marshes is fierce. An afternoon wedding solves it: the ceremony and the couple’s session fall when the sun goes down, and at night the garden is the best place to be. The venue also has covered spaces, according to its website, in case you want a plan B.

Do you also film the pre-wedding? Do you travel?

Yes. Patri and Juanma had theirs in Marrakech and we went with them; the film is on this very page. If you would like yours somewhere else, in or outside Andalusia, write to us: we talk it through and it goes into the quote.
