How it went
Their story
Rocío and Antonio have known each other “all their lives, from the village”, though only by sight and not much more. Nine years ago, chance had them talking at several parties in a row in the same month, and one night at the nightclub it clicked: what began as “I don’t want anything serious” ended in a wedding. “Summer nightclub flings sometimes end well,” they say. The ceremony was a church ceremony, at six in the evening, in the estate’s chapel: “something beautiful and moving”. Rocío and her family got ready at the estate itself and we arrived at four, two hours before. Then a reception of an hour and a half with food stations and live music, and dancing all out. They keep the moment of walking towards the ceremony: “the excitement of seeing you, seeing each other for the first time that day, coming closer and reaching the altar and finding each other. It was magical.” Antonio sums it up in one sentence: “The moment of seeing Rocío was the most beautiful of all; I’d repeat it a thousand times.” And the faces of everyone who loves them, happy, and the gift from their friends and family.
CEREMONY
The ceremony at the Capilla de la Hacienda de Xenís.
It was a church ceremony, at six in the evening, in the chapel of Hacienda de Xenís: a sixteenth-century chapel with its gilded altar and a chandelier, full of white flowers and greenery. Before it began, Rocío waited seated before the altar with her bouquet.
Absolute respect.

JUST THE TWO
Just the two of them. After the “I do”.
After the ceremony they slipped away for a while along the estate’s dirt tracks, among trees and fields of dry grass: Rocío with the veil in the air and the bouquet held high, and Antonio, in his morning coat, looking at her.
Only the two of you.

DRINKS & DINNER
The celebration at Hacienda de Xenís.
The reception was in the gardens of the hacienda, with catering by Domingo Arias: long tables under the trees, with white flowers and crystal glasses, and strings of lights hanging from the branches.
An unforgettable celebration.

Why here
Why get married at Hacienda de Xenís, in Chucena
Rocío and Antonio married in the chapel of Hacienda de Xenís and celebrated in its gardens. This is what the estate offers, according to our venue guide and its bodas.net listing, and what we saw ourselves.
/01/
An estate that is only yours
Hacienda de Xenís hosts only one event a day, and according to bodas.net it takes from 50 to 400 guests. Rocío and Antonio had 350, and there was plenty of room for the ceremony, the tables and the dancing without anyone sharing the space with another wedding.
/02/
A sixteenth-century chapel
The estate has its own chapel, from the same period as the farmhouse and dedicated to the Virgen de la Zarza. Rocío and Antonio married in it, with the gilded altar and the chandelier lit, and so much white and green that you could hardly see the walls.
/03/
More than 400 hectares of countryside
The farmhouse stands on an estate of more than 400 hectares. For Rocío and Antonio’s time alone there was plenty of track: dirt paths between trees and fields of dry grass, with the veil in the air and the low light of the afternoon.
/04/
Dinner under the trees
In the gardens the tables were set under the trees, long, with white flowers and crystal glasses, and strings of lights hanging from the branches. A reception of an hour and a half with food stations lets guests move around without hurry.
/05/
Forty-five minutes from Seville
From Seville airport it is 52 kilometres, about 45 minutes by car; from Faro airport, 167, a little over two hours. It sits between the provinces of Seville and Huelva, so it is handy for guests from either side.

Questions
What people ask us about this wedding
What was Rocío and Antonio’s wedding at Hacienda de Xenís like?
An evening wedding, with a church ceremony at six in the estate’s own chapel and 350 guests. Then an hour and a half of reception with food stations and live music in the gardens, and dancing well into the night. Their frames, on this page, are grouped by act: the chapel, the two of them alone along the estate’s tracks and the banquet tables.
Can the ceremony be held in the chapel at Hacienda de Xenís?
Yes: Rocío and Antonio married in it in a church ceremony, and at this estate we have filmed both a religious and a civil ceremony. The chapel dates from the sixteenth century and is dedicated to the Virgen de la Zarza. For each year’s conditions and calendar, ask the estate.
How many guests fit at Hacienda de Xenís?
According to the estate’s bodas.net listing, from 50 to 400 guests, and only one event is held a day. At Rocío and Antonio’s wedding there were 350, and the ceremony, the banquet under the trees and the dancing all fitted without crowding. Before fixing a date, ask the estate how the spaces are shared out for your numbers.
What is it like to have a photographer and a videographer at once?
Rocío and Antonio had Gonza Lagares as their photographer; they chose him after ranking the options between the two of them and her brother, and he won “one hundred per cent”. They said the time when they were left alone with us was when they were most relaxed, and that when they were nervous a single word was enough to calm them. We coordinate with whoever is doing the photography so we do not get in each other’s way.
How do you choose a wedding videographer?
Antonio was completely sure: he had seen our work on Instagram and loved it, and meeting us made the decision much easier. What they liked most, they say, was the trust, how safe we made them feel and a style of our own.
Who worked on this wedding?
Hacienda de Xenís provided the venue; Gonza Lagares, the photography; Catering Domingo Arias, the catering; DJ Bau, the music; Inneo Floristas, the flowers; Cherubina, Rocío’s dress, with shoes by Lodi and a headpiece from Sombrerería Roiz; Bund, Antonio’s suit; Juan Luis Piozas and Be Cool Peluqueros, Rocío’s hairstyle. The video is ours. All of them, in “Who made this wedding”.

We asked them what they would tell a couple unsure whether to hire a videographer for their wedding.
“Without a doubt, yes. That day goes by so fast that afterwards you have hazy moments and things you don’t remember. The very things you are able to capture, you watch them later and remember the moment perfectly, and you go back to the place and that feeling.”
