How it went
Their story
Pablo and Rocío met at a party four years ago. It was a spontaneous meeting and, they say, they haven’t stopped choosing each other since. They married, they say, because they wanted “to keep building their life together, sharing the small moments, supporting each other at every stage and celebrating the love they have created over these years”. The wedding was on a Saturday in October, at midday. A church ceremony at twelve at the Parroquia de San Juan Bautista, “traditional, the way it’s always been”, with the veil rite, readings by family and friends and live music. From there, to Finca La Reunida: 250 guests, a cocktail hour of more than an hour with a live saxophone, dinner and an open bar where the couple danced. Rocío, who had walked into church with the veil over her face, ended the night dancing in a top of white feathers. They keep three moments. Pablo’s: the two of them alone in the church, just before leaving, “a moment of calm, a breather in the middle of so many emotions”. Rocío’s: Pablo handing the bouquet to her grandmother and blowing out the candles with her friends. And the last hours of dancing, when only the true friends and closest family were left. Before all that we filmed their pre-wedding, at night, among the lights of a fair: a moped, a chair on a patch of waste ground and lots of motion blur.
CEREMONY
The ceremony at the Parroquia de San Juan Bautista.
It was a church ceremony, at noon, at the Parroquia de San Juan Bautista in San Juan del Puerto. Rocío walked in on the arm of a man in a morning coat, with the veil over her face. Inside, the veil rite, readings by family and friends and live music. The papers with the words they had written got tangled and Pablo had to improvise: the mix-up, with a few more slip-ups, ended in laughter all over the church.
Absolute respect.

JUST THE TWO
Just the two of them. After the “I do”.
At the estate they slipped away for a while to the cobbled courtyards, between brick arches, and along the sandy track that leaves the wooden gate. Rocío, with the cape of her dress in flight; Pablo, in his morning coat, with her bouquet held up to cover his face.
Only the two of you.

PARTY
The party. When it all lets go.
An open bar, with the couple’s dance in the middle and Rocío, in the feathers, at the centre of the dance floor. At the end, only the true friends and the closest family.
The camera dances with you.

Why here
Why get married at Finca La Reunida, in Niebla
Pablo and Rocío married in church in San Juan del Puerto and celebrated at Finca La Reunida, six kilometres from Niebla. This is what the estate offers according to its bodas.net listing, and what we saw ourselves.
/01/
An estate for 250 guests, and more
According to bodas.net, the estate has an indoor hall for up to 700 diners and “plenty of outdoor areas” to celebrate, from the civil ceremony to the party. Pablo and Rocío had 250.
/02/
Courtyards of brick arches and white walls
Our venue guide describes it as a century-old estate with restored gardens. At their wedding what we filmed most were the cobbled courtyards, the brick arches and the wooden gate with its climbing plant, with the October light falling on the dress.
/03/
Six kilometres from Niebla
The estate is at kilometre 6 of the Niebla road, a town still enclosed by its medieval walls. From San Juan del Puerto, where they had the church ceremony, it is about twenty kilometres to Niebla: twenty-four minutes by car.
/04/
A midday wedding in October
Ceremony at twelve and celebration from two in the afternoon. In October the midday light is still strong and the afternoon stretches without the heat: room for photos alone, a long cocktail and an unhurried open bar.
/05/
An hour and ten from Seville
From Seville airport it is 80 kilometres, an hour and ten by car; from Faro airport, 144, about two hours. For guests from abroad, the easy way is to land in Seville and book a coach, as they did with Autocares Griñolo.

Questions
What people ask us about this wedding
What was Pablo and Rocío’s wedding at Finca La Reunida like?
A midday wedding: a church ceremony at twelve in San Juan del Puerto and then 250 guests at the estate in Niebla, with a cocktail of more than an hour with a live saxophone, dinner and an open bar. Their frames, on this page, are grouped by act: the walk into the ceremony, the two of them alone at the estate and the party.
How many guests fit at Finca La Reunida?
At Pablo and Rocío’s wedding there were 250. According to the estate’s bodas.net listing, the indoor hall takes up to 700 diners, and there are several outdoor areas for the civil ceremony, the aperitif, the dinner and the party. For this year’s conditions and the capacity of each space, ask the estate.
Can the ceremony be filmed at the Parroquia de San Juan Bautista, in San Juan del Puerto?
At Pablo and Rocío’s wedding, yes, no problem: we filmed and photographed the ceremony. The parish church, built around 1500, is late Mudéjar in style, with three naves and Baroque additions, according to tourist guides. Before each wedding it is worth asking the parish priest what is allowed and from where.
Do you notice the camera on such an intimate day?
Pablo and Rocío worried about exactly that: they felt uneasy having a camera close, “afraid of feeling watched and not enjoying it naturally”. Afterwards they said they forgot “completely that we were filming” and were themselves all day. There are two of us, we move among the guests and we arrive while you are getting dressed, so that by the time the ceremony begins you no longer see us.
Did they have a pre-wedding?
Yes, and at night: a moped, a wooden chair on waste ground and the lights of a fair behind, with motion blur and black and white. Some of their frames are at the end of this page.
Who worked on this wedding?

We asked them what they would tell a couple unsure whether to hire a videographer for their wedding.
“We’d tell them yes, without a doubt. Photographs are beautiful, but video gives you something different: the voices, the laughter, the hugs, the words, the music and the emotions just as they happened.”
