We filmed Rocío and Juan’s wedding on 31 July 2026: the ceremony at the Iglesia de San Jorge Mártir in Palos de la Frontera, and the celebration at the Convento de la Luz in Lucena del Puerto.

How it went
Their story
Rocío sums it up in three words: moving, expressive and natural. She keeps the arrival by car and the feeling of seeing everyone waiting for them; what nobody had in the script was the priest making them speak in the middle of the church. What they asked of the film is exactly what you see in these images: “an elegant, cool video, with your touch of wild night but keeping it classy”, with the family and the closest friends, the entrance to the reception, the dinner they ran into and an impromptu dance. Rocío watched the trailer on the sofa at home, on a break from work.
JUST THE TWO
Just the two of them. After the “I do”.
A few minutes alone with Rocío and Juan: the maroon car, the orange calla lilies, a whitewashed wall and no directions at all. Rocío put it better than anyone afterwards: “it was feeling loved”.

DRINKS & DINNER
The celebration at Convento de la Luz.
The celebration was at the Convento de la Luz in Lucena del Puerto: the ivy-covered brick courtyard, chandeliers above the tables and orange flowers on every centrepiece. For days afterwards they kept hearing how spectacular it had all been: the place, the food and the team.

Why get married in Huelva
Rocío and Juan got married in Palos de la Frontera and celebrated at the Convento de la Luz in Lucena del Puerto, half an hour from the coast. This is what Huelva brings to the table.

The light of Huelva
It’s one of the sunniest provinces in Spain, with more than three thousand hours of sun a year. At the end of July, when Rocío and Juan got married, the sun sets after half past nine: an evening ceremony has light well into the drinks reception.

A convent you can stay the night in
The Convento de la Luz is one of the few venues in the province with accommodation on site: up to five hundred guests for dinner, its own chapel and room for a civil ceremony. Guests from out of town sleep where the party ends.

Palos, where it all began
Getting married at the Iglesia de San Jorge Mártir means getting married where, in 1492, the order sending Columbus to sea was read out. Five minutes away are La Rábida and the Muelle de las Carabelas: the plan for the morning after is already made.

The sea, half an hour away
Mazagón and Matalascañas are about thirty minutes away, with Doñana right next door. A pre-wedding shoot on the beach or an extra day for the guests comes naturally; and in July, it’s very welcome.

Proper food
White prawns from Huelva, Jabugo ham, almadraba tuna and the strawberries of Lucena del Puerto and Palos, which is berry country. Here the banquet is the kind people talk about.

An hour from Seville
Seville airport is just over an hour away by motorway and Faro an hour and a half: two gateways for guests flying in from abroad, with no changes.

Weddings last here
Huelva gets married in summer and at night: the party starts when the heat drops and it’s in no hurry. At Rocío and Juan’s, the drinks reception had Grupo Del Jure playing live and Ale Castro DJ closed the night.

What would Rocío and Juan do again, and what would they change?
They’d do it all again. They’d change two small things: arriving more rested on the wedding day and eating more — they ran in to dinner. And Juan, without a second thought, would hire us again. They asked the film to convey as much as they did: elegant, with a touch of wild night, without going over the top.
